Speaker Background:
Martin Dinel is a trusted information technology and cybersecurity professional with over 34 years of leadership experience. As Chief Information Security Officer for the Government of Alberta since August 2015, Martin is defining the organization’s cybersecurity vision and strategy to counter the cyber threat and ensure the protection of the province’s digital assets. This year, Martin was one of 37 worldwide innovators featured in the Public Sector Network’s 2022 Global Government Innovators eBook. His current involvement in the cybersecurity community includes:
- Cybersecurity champion and speaker at various international conferences and events;
- Chair of the CyberAlberta Community of Interest, formed with the cybersecurity leads of Alberta public and private sector organizations to strengthen Alberta’s cybersecurity posture; and
- Member of the National CISO Committee on Information Protection (NCCIP), involving peers from all levels of governments across Canada, acting as Chair for 5 of the past 8 years.
Irina Sedenko is a Research Director in the Data, Analytics & AI practice at Info-Tech Research Group. Irina focuses her expertise on AI, Machine Learning, and Data Science. She brings 25 years of data, information management and advanced analytics implementations, leading organizations on their data and AI journey.
Her experience includes designing and implementing enterprise content management systems, defining AI strategies aligned with business goals and objectives, helping organizations with practical approaches for data and AI governance, and providing guidance during successful data/ML initiatives. She led teams through the implementation of data platforms and the enablement of advanced analytics capabilities. Irina has hands-on data science and machine learning experience.
Prior to joining Info-Tech Research Group, Irina worked at Accenture, TELUS, and was an independent consultant. Her experience has led her to design and develop course material for Data Science professional development programs at the University of Toronto and the University of Waterloo.
Irina has an MBA from Queen’s University Smith School of Business.
