Description

This workshop will walk you through what you'll need to get started on an e-commerce platform like Shopify. Learn about an array of topics from marketing to basic design principles, to recession proofing your business with an omnichannel setup, and being prepared for Cyber weekend and the holidays. You'll get a glimpse as to what Shopify has to offer including the growing ecosystem built to serve businesses like you. Shopify will answer any questions you may have about running your online business; we welcome you to prepare your questions in advance!

Varun Chopra is the local programs and community manager for Shopify in Calgary. From in person workshops and events, 1:1 meetings and now moving online to offer webinars and digital office hours, Varun thrives to build relationships and putting his long running experience working with all kinds of entrepreneurs to help local businesses grow. Fun fact: Varun is also a songwriter and has music on shows including a documentary hosted by Pharrell Williams and a Spanish soap opera.
Monica Cordon | Social Care, Shopify
Monica Cordon dedicates her work at Shopify to understanding and empowering entrepreneur success in e-commerce. Prior to joining forces with Shopify within the Social Care team, Monica started her entrepreneur journey after graduating from the University of Alberta. Becoming a multi-business owner and speaker led her to speak at events held around the world in the pursuit of helping other entrepreneurs succeed. Monica partnered or founded over 120 e-commerce businesses leading some of them to 7 figure revenues.
