Since March, the government has responded to the impacts of COVID-19 pandemic by providing benefit programs to support both businesses. How will these programs impact you during tax season? More importantly, what should you be doing now to prepare?  
 
To answer these questions and more, join us for a conversation with Dale Somerville, FCPA, FCA and his team to learn more about the various COVID-19 federal emergency response programs and their tax and reporting implications. Dale will also outline various tax planning opportunities that have arisen as a result of the economic impact of the pandemic.

About the Presenter
 
Dale Somerville, FCPA, FCA is the owner and President of William Dale Somerville Professional Corporation.
 
Born and raised in Edmonton, Dale graduated from the University of Alberta with a bachelor’s degree in commerce and became a Chartered Accountant in 1982.  Dale was granted fellowship status in 2020.  Dale is a member of CPA Alberta, CPA British Columbia, and the Canadian Tax Foundation.
 
Dale has authored and instructed numerous courses for CPA Alberta/Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta and has presented tax podcasts in the “Straight From the CPA's Mouth” series produced by CPA Alberta. He is the author of the annual Tax Clinic Guidelines for CPA Alberta members.  He has chaired Conduct and Discipline Hearings and Appeals for CPA Alberta and is a past member of the CPA Canada Small and Medium Practice Advisory Group. 
 
Dale’s office is the Edmonton representative of the Associated Firms Group which is a network of eight Alberta-based Chartered Professional Accountant offices that focus on developing best practices. His tax, accounting and advisory firm serves primarily owner-managed businesses in Alberta and British Columbia.
