Founded in 1971, MacEwan University has a long tradition of inspiring its students with a powerful combination of academic excellence and personal learning experiences. The university offers a broad complement of programs to a student body that numbers over 12,000 full-time undergraduate students, including close to 1,100 international students from more than 80 countries.

Instructors are focused on teaching first, but many are also engaged in ground-breaking, internationally recognized research, scholarly and artistic activity. Faculty research informs and enhances the quality of the teaching curriculum and creates opportunities for student involvement in research – a rare opportunity in many undergraduate universities.

MacEwan University’s campus is centrally located in the heart of downtown Edmonton, Alberta. Students have access to up-to-date educational facilities including labs and purpose-built spaces. The John L. Haar Library is a comprehensive facility with more than 1,247,000 books, periodical volumes, e-journals and audio-visual materials.
