About
Autism Edmonton is the oldest autism organization in the province, serving Edmonton and the surrounding area since 1971. At Autism Edmonton, we deliver life-enhancing programs which ignite the power and potential of autistic individuals. We provide programs and support services for autistic individuals during all stages of life and any stage of diagnosis. For example, we offer support groups for autistic adults, LGBTQ+ members, and for both partners and parents of autistic individuals. Additionally, we provide respite, recreational, and learning activities for different ages. We also promote well-being and strengthen our community by increasing understanding of autism. VISION: All people on the autism spectrum have a life full of possibilities. MISSION: To enhance the lives of people on the autism spectrum through knowledge, services and inclusive opportunities.
Additional Info
The organization was first formed as a society by a group of concerned, passionate, and dedicated parents of autistic individuals and continues to evolve as it works to meet the changing needs of our local autism community.
Today, Autism Edmonton is known as a "go-to" source for families, individuals and professionals looking for autism resources.
Autism Edmonton's work addresses many different categories of need: family support, community engagement, professional consultation, local research support, and advocacy.
As the needs of our members grow and change, along with the resources available in the community, Autism Edmonton has been adapting and updating the different programs and services we offer to best serve individuals and families who need them.
