Host a 10-Week Work-Based Learning Placement
MOMentum is a unique community program that empowers resilient mothers and women overcoming barriers to build sustainable careers. We are seeking Chamber members to act as Host Employers. By opening your doors to provide a hands-on learning environment, you help a mother rebuild her confidence and professional career.
Our program is delivered by Catholic Social Services and fully funded by the Government of Alberta and the Government of Canada. Community engagement is paramount to Catholic Social Services, and we advertise our host employers across all social platforms entirely for free, boosting your local community-minded brand exposure.
How the Partnership Process Works
Matching & Qualifying
We work closely with you to understand your industry and identify a qualified participant who matches your workplace environment and business needs.
6 Weeks of Intensive Classes
Before setting foot in your workplace, participants undergo 6 weeks of rigorous classroom training. They cover workplace readiness, professional communication, and job skills so they arrive prepared.
10 Weeks of Work-Based Learning (WBL)
The participant joins your business for a 10-week placement to apply their learning, gain practical experience, and build confidence. You get hands-on support from our program coordinators throughout.
Graduation, References, or Hiring
At completion, participants celebrate their graduation. Hiring is secondary and not required. If an opening isn't available, providing a warm professional reference is an incredibly valuable way to help them launch.
Ongoing Job Placement Support
Even after the placement ends, our job developers continue to walk alongside these mothers—assisting them in their job hunt and helping them secure long-term, sustainable careers.
