About Us

The Art Gallery of Alberta (AGA) is a centre of excellence for the visual arts in Western Canada, connecting people, art and ideas. It is a non-profit organization that has been in Edmonton, in Treaty 6 Territory, for almost a century, inspiring imaginations and transforming lives through art. The AGA is focused on supporting diverse artists and the presentation of original exhibitions from Alberta and abroad.

The AGA respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Treaty 6 Territory, the traditional land of diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Beaver Cree, Nitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux/Ojibwe and Dene Peoples. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.
