The first step in your organizations Indigenous Relations strategy!

The KAIROS Blanket Exercise (KBE) is an experiential teaching tool based on participatory popular education methodology that explores the historic and contemporary relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in the land we now know as Canada.

The KBE is built on the foundation of long-standing, collaborative initiatives and relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples to raise awareness of continuing injustices and impacts of colonization and to promote further learning. 

Facilitated by Bigstone Cree Nation member Ian Hopfe a Human Resources and Indigenous Relations Consultant and his wife Corinthé Stolee-Hopfe.

You may be standing for 45 minutes to 1.5 hours but it's okay for elderly or physically challenged people to use a chair/walker/wheelchair during the exercise.

Trigger Warning: This workshop covers sensitive topics like genocide, smallpox pandemics, the 60's scoop, residential schools, and murdered or missing indigenous women and two-spirit peoples.

  • 15 Participants Minimum
  • 50 Participants Maximum
  • You supply space for a large circle of chairs with open area in the middle.
  • Regular investment for the KBE training is $1,500+tax.
