Sport Central's 3rd Annual Bike Drive
Because Every Kid Deserves a Bike!
Sport Central is proud to announce the launch of its 3rd Annual Bike Drive: a community-wide effort to ensure every kid has the opportunity to experience the joy and freedom of riding a bike.
Following the success of the past 2 years, Sport Central is once again setting its sights high and are aiming to collect over 1,000 bikes throughout the month of September.
“Every kid deserves a bike, and every year our community shows up in inspiring ways,” says Janna Tominuk, CEO at Sport Central. “We’ve surpassed 1,000 bikes before, and with your support, we believe we can do it again in 2025. These donations change lives by giving kids the confidence, independence, and fun that comes with owning a bike.”
Sport Central accepts bikes of all sizes and conditions, but the greatest need is for 20” & 24” wheel sizes that suit kids aged 6–12. Each year, we run out of this key size/age range of bicycle and need to purchase brand-new bikes to help keep our appointments moving-- especially for families with multiple children where we have the smaller and larger sized bikes, but not the in-between.
No bike is turned away. “Our talented bike technicians and volunteers will refurbish each bike, ensuring it’s safe and ready for a new adventure,” says Josef Sloan, Director of Operations.
This Member To Member Deal is promoted by Edmonton Chamber of Commerce.
