Opening Ceremony Keynote Address

The Edmonton Chamber of Commerce is pleased to kick off Small Business Week 2026, presented by Servus Credit Union, with a breakfast event featuring a keynote from Charles St-Arnaud, Chief Economist at Servus Credit Union.

Small businesses make up more than 90% of Edmonton's business community. They create jobs, anchor our neighbourhoods, and drive the city's economy. Knowing where that economy is headed has never mattered more. Interest rates, trade uncertainty, labour costs and consumer spending all shape the decisions owners make every day, from hiring and pricing to when to invest and grow.

Over breakfast, St-Arnaud will share his outlook for Alberta and Edmonton and what it means for small businesses: the trends to watch, the risks on the horizon, and where the opportunities are most prominent as we celebrate the kick off to yet another Small Business Week celebration.
