2026 State of the Economy

The Edmonton Chamber of Commerce invites you back for the second annual State of the Economy Luncheon on Wednesday, November 18 at The Westin Edmonton. 

Last year, we gave Edmonton its first economic scorecard, a data-driven look at how our city compares to peer regions. You can download that report here. This year, our 2026 State of the Economy Report turns inward, examining the 10 industry clusters that power the region's economy. From the established anchors that carry today's GDP and job base, to the emerging engines positioned to drive tomorrow's growth. 

The findings offer a clear-eyed picture of where Edmonton holds a genuine competitive edge, where the region is underperforming relative to its potential, and what a best-in-class case study from abroad can teach us about turning specialization into sustained economic advantage. 

We're also pleased to welcome Toni Gravelle, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Canada, who will join us to provide national economic context, helping frame Edmonton's story within the broader Canadian outlook. Join business, government, and community leaders for the release of this year's findings and be part of the conversation about how the region builds on its strengths.
