About us:
Kids Kottage provides care and shelter for children whose families may be facing a crisis. Established in 1995, Kids Kottage is a not-for-profit and charitable organization licensed to provide residential care for children aged 0-10.
The Opportunity:
Kids Kottage Foundation is recruiting a full-time Fund Development Coordinator to support the organization’s fundraising, donor stewardship, community engagement, and communications efforts. This role is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys building relationships, coordinating projects, and supporting meaningful community impact.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Supports fundraising initiatives, sponsorship outreach and donor engagement activities.
• Coordinates donor communications and recognition while maintaining accurate donor records and processes donations in the CRM database.
• Coordinates fundraising events from planning through follow-up and represents the Foundation at events as needed.
• Monitors event budgets, revenue, and expenses.
• Builds and maintains strong relationships with sponsors, community partners, and donors.
• Speaks on behalf of the organization to community groups, partners, and donors to build awareness of the Foundation’s mission and impact.
• Assists with developing, updating and ordering of fundraising and promotional materials.
• Supports management of social media and website content across multiple platforms in alignment with organizational messaging and brand standards.
• Works collaboratively to ensure all public-facing communications reflect the Foundation’s mission, values, and visual identity.
• Tracks and reports on fundraising activities and results, identifying opportunities for improvement and growth using CRM data.
• Supports database upkeep, segmentation, and general fundraising administration ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory bodies (CRA, AGLC etc.).
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in fundraising, nonprofit management, communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
• Experience in fundraising, donor relations, event coordination, nonprofit administration, communications, or a similar role is an asset.
• Valid Alberta driver’s licence and personal vehicle required.
• Clear Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention Check.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong comfortability using CRM systems and learning new technologies, including WordPress, social media platforms, and digital communication tools.
• Understanding of nonprofit fundraising ethics, regulations, and best practices.
• Adaptable and resourceful team player with an eye for design is considered an asset.
Core Competencies:
• Fundraising & Donor Stewardship: Supports fundraising initiatives, maintains accurate donor records, and contributes to thoughtful donor engagement and stewardship that strengthens long-term relationships.
• Event & Sponsorship Coordination: Coordinates the planning, execution, and follow-up of fundraising events and sponsorships, including logistics, tracking, and sponsor fulfillment, with strong attention to detail and organization.
• Community Engagement: Communicates professionally and effectively with donors, partners, and the public, representing the organization confidently while sharing its mission, impact, and values across multiple platforms and settings.
• Compliance & Adaptability: Manages administrative and reporting tasks with accuracy and discretion, demonstrates comfort with CRM systems and digital tools, and adapts quickly within a dynamic nonprofit environment while upholding ethical and regulatory standards.
• Creativity & Brand Awareness: Brings a thoughtful, creative approach to communications and materials, with an eye for design and a strong understanding of the importance of protecting and enhancing the Foundation’s brand, reputation, and public trust across all platforms and interactions.
Work Environment:
• This position is based out of the Kids Kottage Foundation Administration Office, located at 10107 134 Avenue NW Edmonton, AB T5E 1J2.
• 40 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm. Must be willing and able to work occasional weekends, evenings, and early mornings as needed.
Salary Range:
$45,000 - $60,000 annually, depending on education and experience.
