Help Us Change Lives Through Sport - Sport Central Association needs a Grant Administrator (1 year with probable extension)

Note: It is a one-year position with the strong possibility of extension.

Sport Central is an Alberta based charity that collects, refurbishes, and redistributes sports
equipment and bikes to kids, ages 4-17, wanting to participate in sports and recreational
activities but may not otherwise have the opportunity. Our mission: changing lives through sport.

Job Summary:
Sport Central is looking for an innovative, strategic, and proven Grant Administrator to support
our mission. Working closely with the Executive Director, this position will administer
(researching, submitting, tracking, reporting, and compliance) all aspects of grants for Sport
Central.

Reports To: Executive Director
Level/Grade:
  • Type of Position: Full-time, in the office with potential to work from home
  • Hours per week: 37.5 hours/week
  • Salary: $60,000
Purpose:
  • The role will work closely with the Executive Director and management team.
  • This position will administer all aspects of grants for Sport Central.
Accountability: The Grant Administrator is accountable to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the grant identification, submission, and reporting process including collecting and consolidating information, writing compelling applications, follow up, tracking quantitative results and impact, and ensuring compliance to grant requirements. Note: A solid foundation already exists as Sport Central has been serving kids/families for 32 years.
  • Self-edit and submit excellent written communication copy that requires minimal to no revision.
  • Work with the Sport Central management team to research and understand funding opportunities and potential areas of growth.
  • Ensure recognition is executed.
  • As an ambassador of Sport Central, model the organization’s values through interactions with all internal and external partners and team members.
Education and
Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in English, Communications, Journalism, Education, Marketing or equivalent.
  • Ideally a minimum of 2 years experience in grant and proposal writing
  • Proficiency with GSuite, Zoom, and Microsoft Office software.
  • Clear Criminal and Vulnerable Sector check.
